Alumni Saturday

The 2014 Aces took on a strong physical Pennridge team today and had their hands full. Playing in a very strong league Pennridge has played some of the best teams in the area to very close games, and their game with LM was no different.

Both teams had limited scoring chances but opportunities were there. The defenses proved to be the stars of the game as LM could not get one by the Pennridge keeper and Will Rosenbaum and Gian-Luca Hail both played strong games in helping LM post their 5th shutout of the season. Final score 0-0.

This coming Tuesday evening the Aces travel to Strath Haven for a night game (7 PM) a perfect time to come out and help cheer on the young LM squad.

Before the Aces game with Pennridge today our own 2014 LM Soccer Alumni squad faced off against a very good Radnor Alumni club team. The Alumni Aces had a couple of early opportunities but could not convert. Radnor then took charge of the game and scored 3 unanswered goals. Ron Braverman put LM on the board off a nice pass from Jon Fleisher, and a little later in the 1st half Peter Vagnoni converted a beautiful feed from Juan Munoz to narrow the margin to 3-2 at intermission. After another Radnor score Peter Vagnoni's pass found David Bloovman and he found the back of the net to make the score 4-3. With LM pushing forward in the closing minutes to go for the equalizer it was Radnor putting it away with a breakaway goal to secure a 5-3 win.

For those of you who are local, and still can get around the field, we are starting a push now for next year's "Alumni Game". Our goal is to get 28-30 (or more) players out so we can have a LM Alumni vs. LM Alumni game, followed by drinks & food at a local restaurant. Remember, age is only a number, as we had 6 players in the 40's playing this year. Hope you'll join us in 2015.
