LM vs. Conestoga
Tuesday evening, October 18th, at 7:00 PM, on Conestoga's Teamer Field
The Aces & Conestoga have played each other in boy's soccer 74 times since the mid-60's, and LM has won 42, Conestoga 21, and there were 10 ties. Since the Central League was formed in 1967 the Aces have won 11 titles to 'Stoga's 8.
Oddly enough the two teams have only faced each other in a playoff game 3 times (with 2 of them coming in the same year)
* In 1968 the Aces beat the Pioneers 1-0 in the District 1 semi-final; then 'Stoga returned the favor by defeating LM 3-1 in the PIAA State Title game
* In 2010 the Aces defeated "Stoga on PK's to win the District 1 Championship
This year Conestoga is the defending Central League & District 1 Champion, is ranked #1 in the Southeastern PA Soccer Coaches Poll, # 1 in the State Rankings, and is also ranked nationally.
LM is ranked #4 in the Southeastern PA Coaches Poll, with an overall record of 13-1-2. It promises to be a great match-up.
