The Aces, still reeling from their 2-1 loss to Harriton, hosted Garnet Valley this afternoon on a wet Arnold Field. A first half goal from Ben Hriscu from a beautiful Shane Votto header pass was all LM needed as they recorded their 9th shutout of the season, recording a 1-0 win. With an 8-2 Central League record (12-2 overall) and only 1 league game remaining, the Aces have secured a 2nd place finish behind 10-0 Conestoga.
On Saturday LM hosts Great Valley at 11:00 AM, with the last 2 games of the regular season schedule on the road; next Tuesday against Springfield (3:45 PM) and next Friday at Unionville (7:30 PM). On Sunday, October 23rd, the District 1 soccer committee will meet and select & seed the 26 AAA teams who will be playing for the District 1 Title. Lower Merion is the defending champion. Should the Aces finish strong next week they will be hosting a 1st round playoff game on Tuesday, October 25th at 3 PM.
