Offensive woes continue

LM faced off against Springfield this afternoon with a lineup that was missing several key players due to injury or suspension. The effort was certainly there but again, they had trouble putting the ball in the net. Early in the 1st half the Cougars took a 1-0 lead. The Aces didn't seem to have their usual good ball movement in midfield and turned the ball over too much to sustain any kind of offensive pressure. It stayed that way well into the 2nd half with LM getting only a few good scoring opportunities. Springfield sealed it with less than 20 minutes left in the game, and walked away with a 2-0 win.

This was a tough loss for the Aces and dropped them back into the middle of the Central League pack. They have 6 games remaining and need a good push down the stretch to secure a spot in the District playoffs.

We still could use a few more players for our annual LM Soccer Alumni Game, scheduled for Saturday morning, October 17th, at 10 AM on Arnold Field. They will be playing against an alumni team from Haverford High School. If you are interested in playing, and have not yet contacted me, please email me at bubdavidson@comcast.
