Getting Closer

Penncrest scored in the first 3 minutes of the game today, but it was nothing more than a wake up call for the Aces offense. It didn’t take long for LM to tie it up when senior Julien Aoyama scored on a brilliant header, coming from a Jordan Wolf free kick. A little later Wolf set up senior Max Tassano for LM’s 2nd goal. Right before halftime it was Tassano again, this time coming from a David Rosenfeld corner kick. The Aces scored 2 more in the 2nd half, and this 5-1 victory moved their league record to 7-1.

In another key Central League match-up, Strath Haven & Upper Darby played to a scoreless tie, keeping the Panthers in 1st place with an 7-0-1 league mark. Haven has another tough league contest coming up Thursday with Conestoga. Should they tie or lose, and the Aces win their last 3 league games, LM would win the Central League for the 3rd straight year, something that hasn't been done since they won in '84, '85, '86' & '87.
